About the Role

Ankura is a leading expert services and advisory firm that delivers innovative solutions to help clients navigate complex challenges. As a Managing Director, you will be a key member of our Cybersecurity Investigations team, responsible for designing, managing, and performing substantive threat discovery and analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow the Technology and Cyber Investigations consulting practice, supporting private and commercial clients across various industries.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Investigations and Expert Services team to drive business growth and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Actively lead and manage cybersecurity expert witness engagements, including serving as a testifying expert as needed.
  • Lead, manage, and provide executive-level oversight on cyber investigations, ensuring timely and effective delivery of results.
  • Utilize professional and personal networks to identify new business opportunities and drive growth.
  • Participate in externally facing events, representing Ankura and the Practice to increase market awareness and build relationships with current and future clients.
  • Collaborate with others in the practice and elsewhere in the firm on various initiatives, driving business development and client service excellence.
  • Identify sales opportunities and progress from lead to sold engagement, ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Client service activities, including administration and project execution, to deliver exceptional results and exceed client expectations.
  • Effectively communicate with clients regarding existing projects and upselling of additional services, driving revenue growth and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and present project output to key stakeholders, including Executive and Board Level individuals, ensuring timely and effective delivery of results.
  • Participate in the development of standard operating procedures and other practice initiatives, driving business excellence and client service.
  • Quality review of deliverables and externally facing content, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with practice management to provide input into strategic initiatives, driving business growth and client service excellence.
  • Manage a diverse toolset to enable discovery, collections, surveillance, threat analysis, correlation, and reporting, ensuring effective delivery of results.
  • Perform analyses to assess complex fact patterns and attribute those patterns to activities, actors, or entities, driving business growth and client service excellence.
  • Apply analytical expertise, initiative, and innovative solutions to support complex issues, including incident response, investigations, pursuit, and mitigation services.
  • Maintain detailed records, both paper and digital, that document and report investigative activities and results, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Prepare products for internal and external customers that detail project activity, scope, and findings, driving business growth and client service excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or technology-related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working in the field of cybersecurity investigations.
  • Prior experience testifying as an expert in the cybersecurity field.
  • Working knowledge of digital forensic suites such as FTK, X-Ways, and AXIOM.
  • Experience fusing open source collections with investigative results.
  • Project management and service delivery to clients experience.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
