Mental Health Support Worker

Job Summary:
The Brattleboro Retreat Healthcare is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing direct supervision and patient support to children, adolescents, and adults who have been hospitalized for mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and patient support to individuals with mental health needs.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities to promote their well-being and recovery.
- Organize and run group programs to foster a sense of community and support among patients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field with an emphasis on behavioral sciences or equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with colleagues and the treatment team.
- Current active VT Nursing Assistant licensure preferred.
- Valid driver's license without any record of motor vehicle violations or convictions limiting driving privileges.
Additional Requirements for Residential and ARCC Behavioral Tech Positions:
- Bachelor's degree and 21 years of age and experience working with children and youth; or High School Diploma or GED and 21 years of age and two years' experience interacting with children and youth.
- Valid driver's license without any record of motor vehicle violations or convictions limiting driving privileges for day or evening shifts. Valid unrestricted driver's license is preferred for overnight shifts.
