Job Summary

The Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the labor and delivery unit. This includes supervising nurses, coordinating patient care, and ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing management and be able to lead by example, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • SUPERVISION OF NURSES: Supervise and evaluate the performance of nurses on the labor and delivery unit, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Patient Care Coordination: Coordinate patient care with other departments and teams to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Quality Improvement: Identify areas for quality improvement and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction, nurse retention, and overall unit efficiency.
  • Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher;A current Texas State RN license or Compact license; National Certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire/transfer; BLS/ACLS certification as required by individual department; A minimum of 2 years' experience in a nursing management position.
