Production Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the technical dimensions of developing, establishing, testing, and enhancing manufacturing systems and methodologies. This includes automation processes and improvements to processing equipment, material handling systems, tooling, fixtures, jigs, and testing apparatus.
It is essential to ensure that standard operating procedures are established and remain pertinent to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.The role involves collaborating with vendors to ascertain product specifications and coordinating the procurement of equipment, materials, or components, while also evaluating products based on specifications and quality benchmarks.
Additionally, the engineer will engage with management, engineering teams, and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production timelines, and various factors to streamline production processes. Statistical methods will be applied to forecast future manufacturing needs and potential. Maintenance tasks and schedules for equipment must align with manufacturer recommendations.Analyzing labor costs and planning workflow, staffing, equipment layout, and spatial requirements will be crucial to enhance manufacturing efficiency and identify as well as optimize bottlenecks.
Metrics for efficiency and productivity must be accurate and drive continuous improvement. Assessing capacity and necessary resources to fulfill customer demand is vital. The engineer will identify and evaluate process and design enhancements to minimize costs and lead times. Compliance with all governmental laws and regulations regarding manufacturing processes is mandatory. Recommendations for new policies or procedures will be made as needed to ensure product or service improvements. Training and assessments will be conducted as directed. Documentation of current and ideal practices will be maintained, utilizing post-completion audits to ensure compliance with improvements. Proficiency in 3D CAD design through the commissioning of tooling and fixtures is required. Regular attendance and punctuality are expected, along with the ability to work on-site.Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to work collaboratively with others, treat the public, customers, vendors, colleagues, managers, and executive management with respect.
Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and interchange roles within the business is essential.
