Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our internal communications efforts and drive engagement across the university community. As Assistant Vice President of Internal Communications, you will develop and execute strategic communications programs that align with our institution's mission and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement next-generation internal communications strategies to connect faculty and staff to the university's mission and goals.
  • Partner with senior leaders and HR to build and leverage communications strategies focused on employer value proposition, total rewards, inclusion and diversity, learning and development, talent management, and HR transformation.
  • Lead university announcements, editorial calendars, and supporting materials to ensure clear and consistent messaging.
  • Drive culture communications and engagement activities, including award and recognition programs, to celebrate faculty and staff achievements and promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with schools and units to amplify the voice of faculty and staff and ensure consistent storytelling across all touchpoints.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the university through excellent written and verbal skills, translating complex challenges into simple and clear communications.
  • Leverage data and insights to inform communications strategies and measure their effectiveness.
  • Grow and develop a high-performing internal team, advancing their professional development and aligning their capabilities with the university's strategic priorities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of directly related experience in large, decentralized organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in employee communications and culture-building strategies.
