Job Title: Facilities Operations Technician

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Technician to join our team at WGNSTAR. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and resolve routine equipment alarms for facilities equipment across the site
  • Work in a team environment to service, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment
  • Participate in meetings and provide input on equipment and process issues
  • Communicate proactively with leaders and stakeholders on daily priorities and issues
  • Monitor and analyze issues for area processes each shift
  • Identify and resolve chronic equipment alarm issues
  • Assist with installation, modification, and removal of facilities equipment
Requirements:
  • Willingness to rotate to the night shift
  • Ability to work overtime when requested
  • Familiarity with HVACR equipment
  • HVAC Apprentice License or equivalent
  • Ability to become respiratory certified in SCBA, SKA, and APR
  • Ability to become hazmat-certified
  • Ability to become certified in confined space rescue
  • Ability to become certified in CPR
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree or appropriate certifications or licenses
Physical Effort/Activities:

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to walk up to 10 miles a shift. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or maneuver in areas of confined width and height space working in or around cramped mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards workspaces.

The employee must have strong manual dexterity as he/she is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus with strong hand-to-eye coordination.

Ability to work in constrictive attire, wearing appropriate personal protective safety equipment as required, and sit or stand for prolonged periods.

Capacity to work rapidly for long periods when needed, including routinely bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and standing in one location.
