Key Responsibilities
  • Thermal Design and Analysis: Develop and execute thermal design concepts related to gas turbine exhaust & augmentor systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Lean Standard Practices: Implement lean standard practices applicable to thermal design for exhaust systems, driving productivity improvements and cost reductions.
  • Productivity Improvement Strategies: Recommend and implement strategies to enhance exhaust systems thermal designs, resulting in improved performance and reduced costs.
  • Documentation and Communication: Ensure timely and accurate documentation of engineering policies and procedures, and effectively communicate project status updates to relevant leadership team members.
  • Technical Presentations: Present or review key technical review presentations to ensure engineering excellence and drive project success.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Actively participate and support Tech Reviews, Tech Community activities, and relevant Design Board meetings and subcommittees, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or closely related field of Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant thermal design experience.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain an active US Government security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related to heat transfer or fluid mechanics.
  • Technical Expertise: Prior experience in the fundamentals of heat transfer and compressible flows, with strong technical aptitude and proficiency in applicable engineering tools and systems.
  • Software Skills: Experience with fluid flow & heat transfer analytical software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to effectively contribute in a structured, cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain an active US Government security clearance.
