Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Avionics Engineer to contribute to our mission of advancing space exploration and sustainable agricultural practices. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of avionics systems that underpin our cutting-edge solutions for extraterrestrial living. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of aerospace engineering and electronic systems, along with the capability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and electrical interface of avionics systems for space exploration payloads and facilities.
  • Conduct thorough peer reviews and provide approvals for electrical designs during design evaluations and testing phases.
  • Perform engineering assessments and evaluations for avionics systems.
  • Oversee the fabrication and assembly of new product developments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project timelines.
  • Manage the development of avionics systems throughout all integration stages, from production to operational launch.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in prototype and production assemblies.
  • Document and execute verification processes for avionics systems on flight and representative hardware.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in avionics development.
  • Proven experience with payload development for the International Space Station (ISS).
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C/C++.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Fluency in additional languages such as French, Italian, or German.
  • Experience in rapidly designing and delivering reliable products for over 2 years.
  • Expertise in the full life cycle development of electronic hardware products.
  • Hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronic systems.
  • Background in aerospace systems for at least 2 years.
Working Conditions
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends may be necessary to meet critical project milestones.
