Job Title: Behavioral Intervention Specialist

Join AHRC NYC, a leading provider of services for children and adults with developmental disabilities, as a Behavioral Intervention Specialist. This role is a key part of our team, providing behavior support services, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans and staff intervention plans.
  • Implement and monitor effective behavioral data tracking systems.
  • Provide training to staff on behavior treatment plans and behavioral health topics.
  • Assess and evaluate individuals as needed, and engage them in individual and/or group treatment.
  • Coordinate psychological care and behavioral programs with families, medical providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide crisis intervention and instruct staff in addressing challenging behaviors.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on individuals with behavioral challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and timely service records to ensure quality intervention and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, with documented training in assessment techniques and behavioral support plan development.
  • At least 2 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, creating, implementing, and monitoring behavioral support plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in overseeing administrative tasks related to regulatory mandates and program service operations.
