Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our team at YAI. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing the behavioral and psychiatric needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify habilitative, behavioral, and psychiatric needs, and develop individualized support plans to address these needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that all aspects of an individual's care are addressed, including medical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment interventions, including behavioral and habilitative strategies, to support individuals in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.
  • Provide training and support to direct care staff on clinical interventions, data collection, and documentation techniques.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case reviews to ensure that all team members are informed and aligned on individual plans and progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including data collection, documentation, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a clinical or treatment field, such as psychology, social work, or applied psychology.
  • Documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours, and to travel to multiple programs throughout assigned regions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage, build relationships, and work collaboratively with others.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, Workday, and electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and traumatic brain injury.
  • Knowledge of co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, and psychotic disorders.
  • Knowledge of hierarchy of restrictive interventions and familiarity with expected therapeutic effects of psychotropic medications.
  • Current certification in Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R or SCIP-R Restrictive) and CPR.
Compensation

$55,000.00-60,000.00 Annually; based upon education and experience.
