Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary:
As a Radiologic Technologist at Henry Ford Health System, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Under the direction of a Radiologist, you will perform radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. Your expertise will be essential in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices to ensure accurate and safe imaging results.
Key Responsibilities:
Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
Prepare procedure rooms and regularly replenish stock, including linen and related supplies.
Analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and perform radiologic procedures, manually controlling equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
Select and administer intravenous contrast media, monitoring patients for possible reactions and providing immediate care if a reaction occurs.
Perform all imaging procedures, demonstrating principles of radiation protection, including shielding patients, selecting appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose, and using other ALARA techniques.
Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures, following department infection control practices and techniques.
Complete all necessary work sheets, logs, patient records, and documentation.
Assume responsibility for teaching and educating new hires and students, maintaining one's own responsibilities and duties.
Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, including viewing images into PACS and confirming image/series counts.
Complete study indexing, including study begin, study end, and completion of studies in the Radiology Information System.
Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies.
Demonstrate team member standards of excellence, including AIDET, open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, and respecting diversity.
Perform all documentation in medical records and within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
Registration in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required.
Maintenance of required hours of continued education.
Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
