Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for performing radiologic procedures to evaluate pathological entities and provide high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
  • Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional information as needed.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock, including linen and related supplies.
  • Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform radiologic procedures, utilizing patient immobilization as needed.
  • Select and administer intravenous contrast media, monitoring patients for possible reactions and providing immediate care if necessary.
  • Perform imaging procedures, demonstrating principles of radiation protection, including shielding patients and selecting appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies, following department infection control practices and techniques.
  • Complete necessary work sheets, logs, patient records, and documentation.
  • Assume responsibility for teaching and educating new hires and students, maintaining one's own responsibilities and duties.
  • Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, including viewing images and confirming image/series counts.
  • Complete study indexing, including study begin, study end, and completion in the Radiology Information System.
  • Review and confirm clinical protocols with radiologists before performing studies.
  • Demonstrate team member standards of excellence, including AIDET, open communication, and responding in a timely manner.
  • Perform all documentation in the medical record and radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required.
  • Maintain required hours of continued education.
  • Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
