Speech Pathologist

The Speech Pathologist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and establish appropriate treatment goals.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to improve communication abilities.
- Evaluate patient progress regularly and adjust programs as needed to maximize patient progress.
- Document progress in patient charts and complete notes, charges, and discharge notes.
- Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders, or Communication Sciences and Disorders, and be licensed to practice Speech Therapy in North Carolina. ASHA certification is also required. Experience with cognitive and language disorders, motor-speech disorders, dysphagia treatment, especially with neurology, cardiopulmonary, head/neck cancer, traumatic brain injury, and tracheostomy and ventilation management is preferred.
