The engineer will analyze production reports, equipment failures, and maintenance issues to identify and resolve challenges. Technical support is provided throughout the engineering process, including the formulation and communication of operational plans for project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaboration with equipment suppliers to secure quotations.
  • Create system layout and elevation drawings that comply with company standards for client approval and installation.
  • Manage order entry for mechanical components from internal and external sources.
  • Support the Project Manager in adhering to project timelines and milestones.
  • Engage in on-site activities, including installation assistance, system commissioning, and testing support.
  • Address and rectify all mechanical punch list items effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of mechanical budget constraints and ensure procurement aligns with budgetary guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Controls and Software Engineers, as well as the Project Manager, to develop operational documentation for commissioning and acceptance testing.
  • Assist in tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Support the Proposal Development Manager in generating conveyor layouts using standard and manufacturer-specific tools.
  • Conduct engineering calculations to verify that the automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) and conveyor systems meet operational requirements.
  • Perform integration validation for various equipment types relevant to each project.
  • Be prepared for potential overtime as required by workload demands.
  • Participate in company meetings and functions, including project review sessions.
  • Adhere to all ISO protocols and documentation procedures established by the company.

Travel Expectations

Willingness to travel 20% to 40% annually, often requiring overnight stays and potentially extended trips.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and clients.
  • 2-4 years of experience with material handling systems, including AS/RS, conveyors, controls, and software applications in warehousing and manufacturing environments.
