Summary:

The Head of IT Infrastructure Engineering plays a crucial role in shaping the technology landscape at Oneida Innovations Group. This position involves providing strategic recommendations, establishing, implementing, and overseeing best practices for IT Infrastructure and Technology. The Director will evaluate, define, and suggest optimal technologies that align with the business objectives of O.I.G.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple technical teams, including Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, System Engineering, and Database Management, ensuring effective management and strategic planning for the organization’s IT systems and network infrastructure.
  • Provide a long-term vision and strategy for database, system, telecommunications, and network architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Guide employees towards a unified IT vision and strategy, fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Develop innovative systems and network services to support new programs and evolving business needs.
  • Facilitate seamless workflows among all IT groups within Oneida Innovations Group.
  • Ensure teams are equipped with the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Deliver presentations to executive leadership to secure project approvals, translating technology needs into infrastructure requirements.
  • Review and approve budgets for technical teams, ensuring financial accountability.
  • Recommend technical standards and strategic directions for server and system infrastructure, including monitoring and management practices.
  • Address infrastructure issues promptly, identifying root causes to prevent future occurrences.
  • Continuously assess new technologies and maintain familiarity with core platforms.
  • Proactively introduce new technologies to enhance business processes and anticipate their applications within the organization.
  • Mentor and evaluate team members, implementing career progression plans and monitoring performance.
  • Maintain professionalism in a dynamic environment, adapting to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Encourage a collaborative team atmosphere, even under pressure to meet critical business initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT engineering. Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • At least 8 years of management experience in an engineering context.
  • Extensive experience managing large, complex budgets in a collaborative business environment.
  • Strong understanding and design skills in Network and Systems configuration, Database and Application design, and Data Security.
  • Full certification in at least one core platform is required.
  • Knowledge of casino/hotel environments and their computing operations.
  • Familiarity with 24x7 operational requirements.
  • Understanding of project management principles, including planning, execution, and detail orientation.
  • Awareness of industry trends and market developments.
  • Experience with security and compliance standards, including PCI, HIPAA, and SOX.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Knowledge of network security principles, including Firewall design and deployment.
