Job Summary

Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Pharmacy Technician works in a clean room compounding medication to ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription compounding, preparation, and processing.
  • Prepare medications for accurate compounding.
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations for correct dosages.
  • Accurately label and package medications.
  • Participate in medication-related incident assessment, management, and reporting.
Site and Supplies/Equipment Maintenance
  • Clean and sanitize pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
  • Inspect equipment and document failures or defects.
  • Assist with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Licensed or registered (if required by the state).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience.
  • Successful completion of OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).
