Job Title: HVAC Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including air handling units, dust collection units, and chilled water systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with building automation system (BAS) and electrical system owner for electrical support.
  • Support temperature, humidity, and pressure program and resolve any issues.
  • Proactively drive quality improvements to designated mechanical systems.
  • Participate in inspection readiness activities and may also be involved in audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
  • Support resolution of HVAC-related quality deviations ensuring all compliance, regulatory, and customer expectations are met.
  • Use computer maintenance management system (CMMS) to develop and action routine maintenance plan.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional project teams, maintenance, engineering, and daily department communication meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required. A mechanical degree is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with mechanical or HVAC systems or related experience is required.
  • Experience working in a GMP manufacturing environment is strongly desired.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior CAD, simulation software, SAP, ERP systems, Maximo, and/or TrackWise experience.
  • Quality, continuous improvement, process, and manufacturing investigation and technical writing experience.
  • Sound problem-solving skills and good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must have independent decision-making capabilities and ability to think conceptually and understand impact of decisions.
  • Possess emerging leadership and mentoring skills.
