Cybersecurity Internship Opportunity

SC&A is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to support our team in Arlington, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, solid analytical skills, and proven problem-solving experience. They will use their interpersonal skills to communicate with employees and provide solutions to technical problems quickly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in projects related to cybersecurity strategy and planning, risk management, assessments, and standards.

Support the development and application of technical process approaches to cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, or insider threat problems.

Develop policy and procedural updates to existing program documentation to reflect new and revised federal standards and guidance.

Perform processing and analysis of collected information to derive insights and meaning.

Develop recommendations based on analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Cyber or Information Security or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.

Academic course work or experience understanding threats, vulnerabilities, and risks within those domains.

Sustained excellence in academic performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledgeable of general cybersecurity, zero trust, cloud security, critical infrastructure, or insider threat concepts or capabilities.

Experience having applied cybersecurity learning to an internship or research/lab position.

Demonstrated analytical capabilities.

Strong writing and communication skills.

Ability to positively engage with senior Government staff, technical peers, and SC&A team members.

Ability to quickly learn new skills and approaches.

Demonstrated interest in serving the public.

Work Arrangements:

The internship is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, based on the student's availability. The intern is expected to work primarily at SC&A's Arlington, VA, office 2-3 days each week, with the ability to work remotely as negotiated with their supervisor. This is a paid internship offering $20-$25/hour depending on experience.
