We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Chemistry Education at the Assistant Teaching Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research in the field of organic chemistry or related areas and contribute to ongoing course development and evidence-based instruction in undergraduate organic and introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory for both majors and non-majors.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in organic chemistry or related areas
- Contribute to course development and instruction in undergraduate organic and introductory chemistry
- Mentor undergraduate students
- Develop and implement educational programs and projects
- Engage in educational grant writing and project development
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Chemical Education, or a closely related field
- At least one year of teaching experience as a TA, lead instructor, or other comparable teaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to mentor undergraduate students
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience with emerging pedagogical trends and curricular development
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education
- Demonstrated interest in or prior accomplishment with educational grant writing, educational project or program development and assessment, and/or chemical education research
