Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Financial Aid at InsideHigherEd is responsible for overseeing the administration of the financial aid program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional service to students and families. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Aid Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office, including the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations, including the Higher Education Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Student Service: Provide exceptional service to students and families, including counseling, advising, and resolving financial aid-related issues.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with students, families, and internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze and report on financial aid data, including student enrollment, financial aid awards, and program participation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial aid administration, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of financial aid regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, and proficiency in financial aid software and systems.
