Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly skilled Global Education Special Programs Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Global Education Office, you will play a critical role in advising students on study abroad opportunities and managing faculty-led study abroad programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Develop and implement study abroad programs that meet the needs of our students and faculty.
  • Student Advising: Provide expert guidance to students on study abroad opportunities, including program selection, application processes, and pre-departure preparation.
  • Transfer Credit Processing: Work with students and faculty to ensure seamless transfer credit processing for study abroad programs.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with academic departments, faculty, and other stakeholders to promote global education initiatives.
  • Sustainability and DEI: Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the Global Education Office.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Experience: Several years of experience developing and supporting study abroad programs.
  • Cross-Cultural Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with cross-cultural issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate Degree: Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Study Abroad Experience: Significant experience working with study abroad programs, including program development, management, and advising.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in a second language.
  • Transcript Review: Experience reviewing international transcripts.
  • Sustainability Experience: Knowledge of and experience working on sustainability initiatives.
