Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Summary: This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive case management services, including advocacy, to individuals and families facing housing emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
➢ Stay informed about eligibility requirements and application procedures for all emergency housing programs managed by the Housing Authority and related initiatives.
➢ Conduct assessments to evaluate the needs of individuals and families to determine their eligibility for various assistance programs.
➢ Follow established program protocols; provide ongoing case management services for clients, including educational activities (e.g., workshops on relevant topics) beyond the initial emergency evaluation and support.
➢ Complete and maintain all necessary documentation (HUD, State, Local, Housing Authority, etc.).
➢ Create and manage case files, including case notes, data collection, and billing time records.
➢ Engage in community organization activities that align with clients' goals and objectives.
➢ Provide advocacy services as needed.
➢ Keep up-to-date with federal, state, and local program guidelines (this may involve travel for training).
➢ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
➢ A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Family Science, or a related field is preferred.
➢ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
➢ Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and across diverse cultures; must maintain a professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive demeanor.
➢ Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
➢ Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
Working Conditions:
➢ This position may involve encountering challenging clients and exposure to various environmental factors, including extreme temperatures, noise, and unsanitary conditions, and may require lifting up to 40 pounds.
➢ The incumbent may need to transport clients and/or conduct home visits.
Additional Requirements:
➢ Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
➢ Must hold a valid Ohio Driver's License and meet the Authority's automobile insurance criteria.
➢ Must complete Ohio Balance of State Rapid Re-Housing training requirements within one month of employment.
➢ Must complete additional training within the first six months of employment related to Housing First Practices, Harm Reduction Practices, Trauma-Informed Care, and Progressive Engagement.
➢ Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
➢ Must effectively engage with culturally diverse populations and adhere to strict ethical standards.
➢ This position may require further training and travel to meet performance expectations.
