Position Overview

The Bilingual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering nursing services within a healthcare setting. As part of a dedicated care team, this position focuses on enhancing quality standards, optimizing patient flow, and elevating the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit the necessary knowledge and skills to provide or coordinate appropriate patient care, in alignment with nursing practice standards.
  • Accurately document all patient interactions and care activities in the medical records.
  • Engage in telephone triage, gathering relevant clinical information and advising patients based on established protocols.
  • Ensure all laboratory and diagnostic tests are properly tracked, and communicate results to the healthcare provider.
  • Participate in pre-visit planning alongside the healthcare provider and care team.
  • Administer medications, including injections, and monitor vital signs such as height and weight.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating patients' medication histories.
  • Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization of instruments and rooms.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and compliance standards set by relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Report patient conditions and responses to treatments to the healthcare provider.
  • Assist patients with prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral processes as needed.
  • Participate in electronic documentation of patient care as directed by the provider.
  • Conduct CLIA-approved laboratory tests and maintain quality control for in-office lab procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture and assist in specimen collection for laboratory testing.
  • Provide patients with a summary of their visit upon discharge.
  • Manage vaccine and pharmaceutical orders in accordance with health regulations and monitor clinical supply inventory.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform various physical activities, including walking, standing, lifting, and bending. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds and may be exposed to communicable diseases. Proficiency in Basic English is essential.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a current LPN license in the relevant state and have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program. Previous experience in a medical office is preferred, along with current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
