Job Summary:

The Electrical Apprentice will assist a Journeyman Electrician in the service and repair of fuel dispensing systems, commercial electric installations, and other related systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams, product specifications, and installation and start-up procedures.
  • Select materials and parts required to complete assigned repairs.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely to accomplish the assigned task.
  • Maintain a clean work area and organize/store tools and materials to minimize damage and risk of injury.
  • Protect company and customer property by all reasonable means.

Safety Activities:

  • Understand and comply with company safety policy and OSHA safety policies.
  • Participate in scheduled Safety Meetings.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and either eliminate or report them to the Journeyman for resolution prior to beginning work.
  • Report accidents or injuries to the Journeyman Electrician immediately.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, three years in a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Restrictions: current, unrestricted driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day.
