Position Overview:

The Electrical Apprentice plays a crucial role in supporting Journeyman Electricians with the maintenance and repair of fuel dispensing systems, commercial electrical setups, and various related systems as directed by the Electrical Department Manager. This position requires a consistent demonstration of proficiency in essential tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interprets schematic diagrams, product specifications, and installation/start-up procedures effectively.
  • Selects appropriate materials and components necessary for completing assigned repairs.
  • Utilizes tools and equipment safely to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Maintains ownership and care of tools required for the position.
  • Completes assigned duties promptly and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Keeps the work area organized and clean, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly to minimize damage and risk of injury. Safeguards company and customer property through diligent practices.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Understands and adheres to the company's safety policies.
  • Complies with OSHA safety regulations.
  • Participates in scheduled safety meetings.
  • Evaluates work to identify potential safety hazards, eliminating them or reporting issues to the Journeyman before commencing work.
  • Reports any accidents or injuries to the Journeyman Electrician without delay.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with three years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Possession of necessary certificates and licenses.
  • Valid driver's license (current, unrestricted, and free of moving violations).
  • Must meet the company's employment criteria, including passing a drug screening, criminal background check, and MVR if driving is required.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending, stooping, and standing for 8-10 hours per day.
