Your daily tasks will involve extensive fieldwork, where you will shoot, edit, and produce compelling visual content for both broadcast and online platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the shooting and editing of video segments, including VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for various broadcasting channels.
  • Collaborate with the Assignment Desk and Reporters to effectively cover a range of daily news stories.
  • Utilize professional camera equipment to capture high-quality footage.
  • Edit video content using Adobe Premiere and ensure timely transmission of completed work to the station via ENG, SNG, and wireless data.
  • Gather both video and still images for our digital platforms.
  • Partner with reporters and producers to ensure the accuracy and quality of the content.
  • Work closely with producers to realize their creative vision through vivid video and authentic sound.
  • Coordinate incoming video materials from field crews.
  • Manage video storage and cataloging systems to maintain organized records.
  • Produce and publish engaging content across our online channels.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure all gear is in optimal working condition.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in video photojournalism.
  • Experience in a newsroom setting, either professionally or through internships.
  • Ability to handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with ENG trucks and their operation.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in digital editing tools and software, particularly Adobe Premiere, Precis, and CNN platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
  • Ability to thrive under the pressures of time-sensitive news production.
  • Military experience related to the field will be considered an asset.
