Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to join our faculty team in the School of Business at Norfolk State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in Tourism and Hospitality Management, providing service at the department, school, university, and community levels, and supporting the school's commitment to maintaining academic excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of courses in Tourism and Hospitality Management, including introductory and advanced courses.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the program's goals and objectives.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in departmental and school-wide committees and initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or Doctoral degree in Tourism and Hospitality or a related field.
  • Substantial and meaningful experience in hospitality management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to improving access to higher education for all students.
