Drama Instructor

Join our esteemed faculty at Norfolk State University as an Instructor of Drama and Theatre in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced educator to teach acting, intro to theatre, and other areas as qualified.

• Teach acting and intro to theatre courses to a diverse population of students
• Supervise and train students with a collaborative and open attitude
• Be a role model for students and demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence

• M.F.A. in Acting/Performance or related field
• Evidence of teaching experience
• Experience as a professional actor, including performing African American theatrical works

• Specialization/certification in voice and/or movement for actors
• Experience with academic program assessment in higher education
• Membership in discipline-specific professional unions and organizations
• Knowledge and experience with NAST Accreditation
