Job Summary:

Fortis Colleges and Institutes is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant Instructor to facilitate learning and development in our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and experience in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach medical assisting courses to students
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet program goals
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive learning experience
Requirements:
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program with a Certificate of Completion or Diploma
  • At least one of the following certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Nationally Certified Medical Assistant
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Prior post-secondary/higher education teaching experience is highly desired but not required
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Dependable/reliable team player with demonstrated initiative
