We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and performing routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Operate radiology equipment to produce quality images as ordered/according to department protocols.
- Perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
- Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies while adhering to WUH infection control policy and procedure.
- Maintain a proper environment of care and follow WUH infection control policy and procedure.
- Accurately utilize the Radiology Information Systems and verify proper exam completion, contrast usage, and code attachment.
- Properly and timely utilize the PACs system for radiologist interpretation and verify image transfer.
- Practice effective radiation protection and monitor exposure, following department policy regarding pregnant patients.
- Prepare patients for exams using proper positioning, immobilization, and instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical Diploma or graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services required.
- Current New York State Radiologic technician license or New Graduate with temporary permit required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required within 6 months of hire.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.
- Thorough knowledge of Radiography equipment required.
- 1-2 years of Radiologic Technology experience preferred.
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

The salary range for this role is $47.00 hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
