Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health System. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and performing routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images as ordered/according to department protocols.
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
  • Work with radiography students in completing exams and instructing and supervising them in clinical practicum.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of the facilities equipment and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure.
  • Maintain proper environment of care and follow WUH infection control policy and procedure.
  • Accurately utilize the Radiology Information Systems and verify proper exam was completed, amount of contrast if used is correct, and proper code is attached.
  • Arrive and complete procedures in a timely fashion and properly utilize the PACs system allowing for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Verify all images are transferred to PACs in a timely manner and practice effective radiation protection in utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible.
  • Monitor exposure and follow department policy regarding pregnant patients and prepare patient for exam using proper positioning/immobilization and giving proper instructions throughout.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services required.
  • Current New York State Radiologic technician license or New Graduate with temporary Permit required.
  • Must become registered before expiration of temporary permit.
  • ARRT required within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills required.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Radiography equipment required.
Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of Radiologic Technology experience preferred. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
