Job Summary:
The Yay Cafe Lunch Coordinator position is responsible for ensuring well-balanced meals are provided to schools daily through daily vendor partnerships and lite food prep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items such as sandwiches, salads, and beverages according to established recipes and portion sizes.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of serving stations, ensuring they are adequately stocked and organized.
- Serve food to customers courteously and efficiently, maintaining a friendly demeanor at all times.
- Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, following proper Yay Pay and credit card procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation and serving areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing/logging of waste properly.
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating products, inputting inventory into system, and notifying management of low inventory.
- Attend quarterly training sessions to stay up to date with new procedures.
- Set up and maintain visually appealing merchandising displays to showcase food in an attractive and enticing manner.
- Interact with students, faculty, and staff in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with other Yay team members to ensure smooth operations and positive customer experiences.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, food service, hospitality or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people, including students, faculty, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with school staff, students, and other team members.
- Flexibility to work morning and afternoon hours, as scheduling will depend on each individual school's needs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for meal deliveries.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Smart phone.
- Ability to work with technology.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- ServSafe certification is preferred but not mandatory; can be obtained once employed.
Compensation:
- $17.50 per hour.
- Data stipend.
- Mileage reimbursement (when delivery is required).
