Job Summary:

The Yay Cafe Lunch Coordinator position is responsible for ensuring well-balanced meals are provided to schools daily through daily vendor partnerships and lite food prep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food items such as sandwiches, salads, and beverages according to established recipes and portion sizes.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of serving stations, ensuring they are adequately stocked and organized.
  • Serve food to customers courteously and efficiently, maintaining a friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, following proper Yay Pay and credit card procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation and serving areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing/logging of waste properly.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating products, inputting inventory into system, and notifying management of low inventory.
  • Attend quarterly training sessions to stay up to date with new procedures.
  • Set up and maintain visually appealing merchandising displays to showcase food in an attractive and enticing manner.
  • Interact with students, faculty, and staff in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other Yay team members to ensure smooth operations and positive customer experiences.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in customer service, food service, hospitality or related fields is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people, including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with school staff, students, and other team members.
  • Flexibility to work morning and afternoon hours, as scheduling will depend on each individual school's needs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for meal deliveries.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Smart phone.
  • Ability to work with technology.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • ServSafe certification is preferred but not mandatory; can be obtained once employed.

Compensation:

  • $17.50 per hour.
  • Data stipend.
  • Mileage reimbursement (when delivery is required).
