Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with engineers to create and execute equipment testing documents.
  • Develop and fabricate test fixtures and create engineering drawings under supervision.
  • Build prototypes, create bills of materials, and work with production on assembly instructions.
  • Demonstrate inclusion and accountability for a safe workspace, acting with kindness, curiosity, and respect for others.
  • Embody Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.
  • Understand and comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of instruction towards a BS in Engineering.
  • Eager to contribute and learn.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Driven individual with a track record of being a self-starter.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Some CAD training (preferably AutoCad).
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous work experience.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to observe and inspect equipment and operations for proper operation and compliance to safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to work in a production environment around automated equipment.
  • Ability to work in an office environment utilizing a computer workstation.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment with chemical, biological, and packaging materials.
  • Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time.
  • Ability to position oneself in low positions.
  • Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to transport items between buildings.
