Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Med Surg Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in an acute care setting in Pediatrics – preferred
  • 2 years of previous experience as Staff Registered Nurse (RN) – preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
