About the Stores Executive Internship

The Stores Executive Internship is a paid 40-hour/week, hands-on training program designed to develop and prepare future store leaders. As a Stores Executive Intern, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role (Assistant Store Manager) and work closely with other managers and team members to develop an understanding of how Target's retail business works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team to drive sales results, merchandise products, and provide an exceptional guest experience
  • Work alongside a mentor to learn effective leadership skills and strategies
  • Develop and implement business strategies and goals to support store priorities
  • Recruit, select, and talent manage hourly team members and leaders
  • Partner with leaders to address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations and goal attainment
Requirements
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong interest in working in retail, specifically within Target stores in management
  • Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude
  • Effective communication skills
