The primary objective of this role is to oversee and implement comprehensive corporate strategies aimed at enhancing inventory efficiency to ensure superior customer service levels and optimal fill rates. This is achieved through strategic planning, deployment, and management of the YKK AP inventory network, which involves the following responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide detailed reports on YKK AP inventory initiatives to senior management, including monthly assessments of inventory metrics across the network, such as inventory volumes, effectiveness, internal supply chain performance, and metrics related to Physical Inventory and Cycle Counts, as well as identifying dead and slow-moving inventory.
- Develop and execute inventory strategies throughout the supply chain that align with budgeted service model objectives, manage inventory carrying costs across the organization, and achieve YKK AP sales targets with high fill rates within specified lead times.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to synchronize product availability with service policies. Establish and maintain alignment of inventory SKU items and replenishment lead time factors within the product planning system (ASIM).
- Adjust and manage SKU inventory levels across the supply chain based on Sales, Market, and Manufacturing business strategies and objectives.
- Oversee the integration of new products into YKK AP inventory systems through close cooperation with Product Development, Sales, Accounting, and Manufacturing to ensure inventory effectiveness upon market release.
- Implement and manage the obsolescence policy for all commercial inventory, coordinating with relevant operations for the disposal of qualified items.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Several years of experience in inventory planning or operations, or a combination of education and experience.
- APICS CPIM certification is preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety practices.
- Quality-focused, with a strong orientation towards excellence.
