Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, including taking vitals, drawing blood, and assisting with daily care.
  • Support the admission and discharge process, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Participate in de-escalation and physical intervention training to support patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One of the following certifications: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), or completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred
