Job Title: Automation and Controls Engineer

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Automation and Controls Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation and control systems for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automation and control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
  • Implement and maintain data collection systems using SQL and Schneider Electric data collection systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate production barriers on production equipment.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for electrical and pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, and PLC programs.
  • Implement and maintain process interlocking and Bar/QR Code scanning systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong PLC programming skills, preferably with Schneider Electric PLCs and HMIs.
  • Strong machine vision skills, preferably with Cognex and Keyence.
  • Experience with robotic arm programming, pneumatic motion controls, and variable frequency drives.
  • SQL programming and query writing skills.
