Speech and Language Therapist Position

About the Role:
Lewiston Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. As a communication specialist, you will work with students who require support in developing their language skills.
As a Speech and Language Therapist at Lewiston Public Schools, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing individualized therapy programs to meet the unique needs of each student. You will collaborate with teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy plans and provide guidance on how to support students' daily activities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource to school staff members in developing oral communication and speech improvement programs
- Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments
- Provide thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, voice, and language impairments
- Screen students to identify speech handicaps at regular intervals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement therapy suggestions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Certification as a Speech Therapist
- Ability to supervise students and provide individualized therapy programs
