This role focuses on medical billing within a Physician Practice. A key responsibility is to ensure prompt and effective follow-up on overdue and denied accounts from third-party payers. The position plays a vital role in securing revenue for services rendered by Physicians at Albany Medical Center through the completion of appeals, conducting phone inquiries, and performing account reviews.
Salary Range: $23.00
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required; an AAS degree is preferred.
- Customer service experience is essential.
- Experience in phone-based customer service is advantageous.
- Proficiency in office software, including Excel and Word, is necessary.
- Familiarity with payer websites is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review charges and data for accuracy, addressing discrepancies related to CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes with insurance companies.
- Validate and correct registration and insurance details, ensuring accurate claim submissions.
- Research and interpret information to efficiently reconcile accounts.
- Understand payer policy guidelines regarding billing practices.
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures for thorough account reviews.
- Meet expected production and quality benchmarks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
