Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Lesson Plans: Create and adapt lesson plans to supplement the curriculum, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
- Assess and Record Student Progress: Accurately record data and chart individual student information, providing valuable insights for student growth and development.
- Lead and Manage Classroom Assistants: Directly manage and train classroom assistants and aides in curriculum and behavioral techniques, ensuring that they are equipped to support students effectively.
- Communicate with Parents and Staff: Maintain a positive and professional relationship with parents, providing regular updates on student achievement and progress.
- Participate in Staff Meetings and Training: Attend weekly staff meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Physical and Sensory Demands: Possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations.
- Physical Abilities: Be able to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations and possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others.
