Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Role Summary

Laboratory Technicians conduct analyses on blood and bodily fluids to detect diseases, assess treatment responses, and support health maintenance. They interpret test outcomes and communicate findings to the relevant healthcare providers.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited MLT program.

Experience

Preferred: One year of laboratory experience.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills across various management levels.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Licensure/Certification

Required: Certification as a Medical Lab Technician from a recognized certifying body or eligibility to take the certification exam upon hire; certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT)

Role Summary

Medical Laboratory Scientists/Technologists perform tests on blood and body fluids to identify diseases, monitor treatment effectiveness, and assist in health maintenance. They provide oversight and mentorship to less experienced staff and are responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues.

Education

Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, or High School Diploma with Grandfathered status under CLIA regulations.
