Job SummarySupermicro is seeking a well-rounded FAE Leader to join our FAE organization. As Director of FAE, you will be responsible for leading the team's activities in industrial and embedded server applications across various vertical markets, including healthcare, industrial automation, military, digital signage, and other sectors with embedded long life cycle and revision control.
You will be actively visiting prospects and customers to engineer products and applications related to embedded systems. Additionally, you may need to take the lead on OEM projects launched with EVT/DVT/PVT in process before MP.
You will also be responsible for maintaining seamless communications with engineers and product/project managers to ensure project timelines and product quality are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work closely with sales and extended teams to map end-user customer business, partner requirements, and provide optimized technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee the implementation of such solutions.
- Be a highly technical problem solver who understands system architecture, hardware, and software interaction.
- Manage and lead teams during investigation and resolution of problems in the field.
- Have a good understanding of firmware, drivers, OS, Applications, and their interaction that can cause system issues.
- Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses, and presentations.
- Work cross-department to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues.
- Ability to build and demonstrate proof-of-concept that meets or exceeds customer business needs.
- Ability to present the corporate brand, product messaging, and solutions to customers.
- Visit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution.
- Build, manage, and mentor junior FAE teams to support customer bases in the region.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
- 15+ years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center or IT Infrastructure experience desired.
- Excellent communication skills and business sense required.
- Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture.
- Solid HW system design and diagnostics skills.
- Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms is a plus.
- Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines.
- Individual must be able to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Hands-on experience is required in developing standards and making them operational.
- Diligent, self-discipline, and able to work under pressure.
$165,000 - $232,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
