The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association is in search of a Vice President of Technology. This is a full-time role that comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement options.
Position Summary:
The Vice President of Technology will work closely with the CAFO to spearhead and advance critical technology practices while propelling the organization forward through innovative technology initiatives. This leader will manage the IT and Development Teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure efficient daily operations. With a proactive approach, this individual will identify opportunities for new systems or enhance existing ones to improve operational efficiency across our sports and organizational framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of technology strategies that align with the organization's mission and values, fostering a culture of success, accountability, and collaboration.
- Guide all facets of Information Technology support and the development lifecycle.
- Facilitate effective communication with staff and stakeholders to assess needs and evaluate technological solutions.
- Assist project managers in establishing timelines for the adoption of new technologies.
- Advise senior leadership on potential improvements to products and processes.
- Standardize software adoption across the organization.
- Conduct design and architecture reviews.
- Formulate and implement technology policies, procedures, and guidelines, providing annual training on these protocols.
- Oversee service and support operations, including workstation support, CRM, asset management, and training.
- Lead initiatives in cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Manage enterprise infrastructure and evaluate appropriate operating systems and access controls.
- Implement cybersecurity solutions to safeguard organizational data.
- Supervise application development efforts, ensuring alignment with business needs through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proactively manage resource allocation and enhance talent attraction, retention, and development strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
- 8-12 years of experience in transformational IT leadership, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven track record as a technical manager adept at navigating complex challenges.
- Experience in building strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Preferred expertise in application development using Java and PHP, as well as Object-Oriented Design.
- Familiarity with SQL and data modeling, along with experience in commercial RDBMS.
- Five to ten years of experience in network architecture and application development management.
- Relevant industry certifications are preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
- Proactive, energetic, and skilled in multitasking, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple high-priority issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Oversees the Enterprise Architect
- Oversees the System Administrator
- Oversees the Help Desk Technician
