Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Care Specialist to join our team at Steward Health Care. As a key member of our care management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and document medical necessity for inpatient status or observation placement.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and desired outcomes.
  • Utilize a systematic methodology to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and provide patient care coordination.
  • Support Steward Health Care's goals and objectives, working within regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare disciplines to ensure timely and appropriate services.
  • Assess the medical appropriateness, quality, and cost-effectiveness of proposed hospital, medical, and surgical services.
  • Ability to work competently with computer-based charting and other clinical and non-clinical software programs.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Working knowledge of criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and private insurance carrier's coverage details.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and effectively interact with insurance companies and community healthcare resources.
  • Must master Microsoft Office Products, i.e. Excel, Word, etc.
  • Has the maturity to work independently and remotely.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three to five years of acute medical/surgical experience plus three to five years of Case Management experience.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of the healthcare delivery setting.
