Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at RTX for a Development Fab Process Integration Engineer in our Development Fab to join our III-V process development engineering team working on gallium nitride-based devices and III-V focal plane array fabrication within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.

This role requires a broad understanding of microelectronics wafer fabrication and processing techniques such as deposition, etch, lithography, backside, materials characterization, and metrology with expertise in one or more of these areas.

The chosen candidate is expected to have detailed knowledge of the process integration and interaction between wafer fabrication modules for the various III-V process technologies and also excellent communication skills with the process development team, technical leads, Integrated Product Team leads, and functional management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the process flow and work instructions for the development wafer fabrication lots in the production of novel semiconductor materials and devices.
  • Support the research and development efforts of the department by facilitating the process development team and the associated wafer movement through the Development Fab.
  • Streamline process flow of development wafer fabrication lots and manage wafer movement between internal and external facilities.
  • Coordinate with and report to technical leads and project managers on the status of experiments within the Development Fab.
  • Interface with the operations team to advocate and coordinate the Development Fab access on production wafer fabrication toolsets.
  • Anticipate potential conflicts from the equipment maintenance and repair of the Development and Production Fab toolset to facilitate the wafer fabrication movement.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for the Development Fab including the audit readiness, safety, chemical inventory and other facilities infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years' of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' of prior work experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor processing techniques including lithography, dry etching, wet chemistry, metals evaporation, sputtering and backside processing.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
