Key Responsibilities

This role is designed to provide academic support and guidance to students at Lone Star College. The Peer Mentor and Academic Support Specialist will work closely with students to help them achieve their academic goals and overcome challenges.

Key Functions:

  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students
  • Assist students with academic tasks and assignments
  • Help students develop study skills and strategies
  • Facilitate group study sessions and workshops
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled at Lone Star College
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment
  • May require occasional travel to other campus locations
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
