Position Summary:
In this role, you will undertake intricate assignments that necessitate the innovation of advanced civil engineering methodologies to develop new or enhanced tools, materials, processes, or techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Guidance

  • Operate under broad directives concerning primary objectives, critical challenges, and policy matters, while exercising independent judgment on complex tasks. Ensure quality assurance by reviewing the output of junior staff.

Operational Engagement

  • Support the marketing initiatives of the firm to attract new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, clients, and design teams to address complex engineering challenges.

Execution of Duties

  • Employ advanced engineering principles and practices in civil engineering and related disciplines.
  • Formulate initial design strategies for significant land development projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Act as a technical liaison among clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on intricate project matters.
  • Offer technical support in resolving design challenges, which may involve field investigations, detailed design calculations, and comprehensive project coordination.
  • Make informed design recommendations and modifications as necessary.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee detailed phases of assigned projects.
  • Engage in the development of innovative civil engineering techniques to enhance project outcomes.
  • Utilize computer-aided design or manual drafting methods to produce original design work.
  • Compile reports and correspondence related to project direction.
  • Conduct field investigations and inspections as required.
  • Review plans and prepare technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
  • Assist in the formulation of plans, specifications, and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Professional Engineer license is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in land development engineering.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software and applications.
  • Familiarity with construction plans and relevant engineering standards.
  • Experience in stormwater management and hydrologic calculations.
  • Ability to navigate zoning and development regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment:

  • Potential for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
  • Primarily an indoor office setting with occasional outdoor work.
  • Mobility required around office and construction sites.
  • Use of standard office equipment is frequent.
