Your Contributions
  • Collaborate with our mine waste team on engineering projects tailored for the mining sector, with potential involvement in diverse industries.
  • Execute engineering responsibilities including:
    • Site and material assessments
    • Designing facilities with a focus on grading, storage capacity, and construction evaluations.
    • Conducting analyses on slope stability, seepage, consolidation, liner systems, and settlement.
    • Performing engineering evaluations related to permafrost soils and cold regions, including thermal modeling.
    • Designing and analyzing surface water management facilities.
  • Draft segments of technical documentation that detail field and laboratory studies, engineering evaluations, and facility designs.
  • Assist in the creation of project design packages, which include technical drawings, specifications, timelines, and cost projections.
  • Participate in both domestic and international fieldwork, such as geotechnical assessments and construction oversight.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
  • Complete training for assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to complete it within 6 months of starting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including proficiency in engineering calculations and evaluations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
  • Comfortable in remote work environments.
  • Commitment to promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Preferred 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in technical writing, office software, mathematical principles, predictive models, and spreadsheet tools.
  • Strong self-management skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to achieve business goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP's health, safety, and conduct policies.
  • Flexibility to work hours that meet project-specific requirements.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary based on project needs.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
