City Engineer

The City Engineer will oversee the planning, development, and implementation of public works and engineering projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to the community. This role requires a strong technical background in civil engineering, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Develop and implement comprehensive plans for public works and engineering projects, including infrastructure development, maintenance, and repair.
• Supervise and direct a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment with city goals and objectives.
• Develop and manage budgets for public works and engineering projects, ensuring effective resource allocation and fiscal responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to environmental impact, safety, and accessibility.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to other departments and stakeholders, as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve project delivery and outcomes.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Four years of professional experience in civil engineering, including two years of supervisory experience.
• Nevada Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
